Commitment to faculty development
The Teaching and Learning Institute at Holland Bloorview is committed to inspiring, enabling and supporting our faculty in their work as educators, scholars and leaders. As a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, all clinical staff engage in clinical supervision of students and may also be involved in other academic activities such as teaching, interprofessional education (IPE), simulation and academic service.
We host a wide variety of faculty development events including an annual Teaching and Learning Day, workshops and other workplace based learning activities. Learn more about our faculty development events.
Faculty development resources
We are currently in the process of developing a unique faculty development resource for Holland Bloorview faculty, designed by the Holland Bloorview faculty.
The Teaching and Learning Institute collaborates with the University of Toronto’s Centre for Faculty Development (CFD) to adapt their programs for our pediatric environment. Two programs that we have adapted for use at Holland Bloorview are the Teaching and Learning for Collaboration (TLC) series and the Accessible Resource for Teaching (ART).
We are proud of the passion and dedication that our employees have for education. Each year we offer Teaching and Learning Institute Awards for Spirit of Education, Innovation in Teaching and Learning and Excellence in Collaborative Education.
