Uber Canada teams up with Holland Bloorview

Uber donates $1 from every accessible ride to help Toronto kids with disabilities

TORONTO, April 29, 2016- Uber Canada and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation are joining forces to support Toronto kids with disabilities. For the month of May, Uber Canada will be donating $1 from every uberWAV and uberASSIST ride in Toronto to Holland Bloorview.

These funds will support the hospital in helping kids with disabilities receive the best care possible, while accessing innovative technologies and stimulating quality of life programs.

In Toronto, Uber Canada recently launched two products for the accessibility community: uberWAV for those who require a wheelchairaccessible vehicle and uberASSIST for those who have other accessibility needs and require extra assistance getting from doortodoor rather than just curb-to-curb.

In addition to donating $1 from every uberWAV and uberASSIST ride in May to Holland Bloorview, Uber Canada will also be contributing a $10,000 donation directly to the hospital.

“Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is a worldclass teaching and research facility serving kids with disabilities and their families,” said Sandra Hawken, President and CEO, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation. “The support of our community and corporate partners is what allows us to deliver incredible programs and worldleading research in the field of childhood disability. Thank you to Uber Canada for creating a world of possibility for kids with disabilities.”

“We’re dedicated to supporting community partners who work tirelessly to make our city a better place to live Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is one of those organizations,” said Ian Black, General Manager, Uber Canada. “We’re excited to support Holland Bloorview’s great work and hope to make a difference in the world of kids with disabilities.”
