Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation Honours National Bank’s Generous $100,000 Donation to Innovative ‘Igniting Fitness Possibilities’ Program

    November 25, 2015
(Toronto, ON) – Last night, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation graciously celebrated a generous $100,000 pledge from National Bank for the Igniting Fitness Possibilities (IFP) program. The pledge will be used to bring IFP to more communities in the Greater Toronto Area.

Beginning with the conviction that kids with disabilities deserve as many opportunities as possible to live an active lifestyle, IFP has been a resounding success since its inception. The initiative aims to tackle obesity and help children develop healthy lifestyle habits early on, namely daily exercise, curbing potential physical and mental health issues later in life.

The special recognition event at the hospital brought together health professionals from Holland Bloorview and various high level employees of National Bank. “National Bank’s support of Holland Bloorview’s Igniting Fitness Possibilities program embodies perfectly our company’s commitment to youth health and wellness,” said Rob Sainsbury, Managing Director of Investment Banking at National Bank.  “We firmly believe that investing in IFP ensures a brighter and stronger future for us all. It is our hope that our pledge will help the program reach as many children as possible.”

Sandra Hawken, President and CEO of Holland Bloorview Foundation, echoed a similar sentiment in her thank you speech last night, “Hope for growth of Igniting Fitness Possibilities is a very real possibility thanks to the support of visionary donors like National Bank.”
