Happy Unbirthday! Celebrating with Holland Bloorview and ECHOAge
Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation and ECHOage teamed up to celebrate the generosity of children and families who dedicated their birthday parties to making a difference in the lives of kids with disabilities. On Thursday, June 18, they hosted the first Unbirthday Party at Holland Bloorview, inviting over 130 families who have raised money for the Hospital by hosting birthday parties dedicated to the cause.
Since joining forces with ECHOage, Holland Bloorview Foundation has received more than $50,000 from generous young fundraisers. The party was a celebration of their involvement, welcoming them into the Hospital to see first-hand how their donations have had an impact on the lives of over 7,000 children who access services and programs at Holland Bloorview.
"These children and families are amazing examples of how charity starts at home," says Tracey Bailey, President and CEO of Holland Bloorview Foundation. "They have been so generous in supporting Holland Bloorview and in sharing their birthday celebrations with us. Now, we are thrilled that they can see the impact their donation has had on the kids at Holland Bloorview."
The Unbirthday Party was an exclusive invitation-only celebration that took place during the evening. Children and their families toured Holland Bloorview and heard the inspirational stories of Holland Bloorview Ambassadors whose lives have been directly impacted by services at the Hospital. Treats, games and a performance by singer/songwriter Marky Weinstock kept everyone entertained throughout the evening.
By planning a party with ECHOage, children get to choose a birthday gift they want while collecting donations for Holland Bloorview Foundation. It is a fun and simple way to incorporate fundraising into family activities while benefiting the lives of children with disabilities.
