Clay Horner

Nationally and internationally recognized as one of the leading mergers and acquisitions advisors in Canada, Clay Horner is a partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP’s Toronto office where he practises in the corporate and securities law fields.

Mr. Horner is Chair of the firm and a past Chair of the firm’s National Business Law Department, which includes over 250 lawyers. He has extensive experience in counselling senior management and Boards of Directors of leading public and private corporations. He acts as co-counsel on many significant transactions with U.S. and international law firms and as counsel to leading U.S.-based investment banking, venture capital and other financial services organizations on the expansion or divestment of their Canadian interests.

Mr. Horner is a former sessional lecturer at the University of Toronto Law School and has spoken to legal and business audiences in London, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montréal and Ottawa. He is a director of a number of companies, including Vice Chairman of The Woodbine Entertainment Group, Chairman of Action Canada and a member of the Board of Directors of The Bishop Strachan School. He is a past President of the Alumni Association at the University of Toronto Law School.

He joined the Board of Directors of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation in 2008.
