New Campaign helps #CrushBarriers for kids with disabilities

January 25, 2016 (Toronto, ON) – Today, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation is launching their Change for Kids campaign to help children with disabilities #CrushBarriers that hold them back. In celebration of the spirit and determination of kids with disabilities at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, eight inspirational ambassador stories, with obstacles including coming back from a concussion, walking unassisted and communicating with a device, are now live at changeforkids.ca.

From now until March 4, Canadians will have the opportunity to share these stories online via Twitter and Facebook. Each story shared will present an opportunity for supporters to donate to a world of possibility for children with disabilities. The public is encouraged to visit changeforkids.ca and share a video to trigger a $5 donation* from Scotiabank, proud sponsor of Change for Kids.

“We are so excited for Canadians to share and be inspired by the stories we witness everyday,” said newly appointed Foundation President and CEO, Sandra Hawken, “The #CrushBarriers campaign celebrates the unlimited potential of our amazing young ambassadors and the world-class care and research at Holland Bloorview that is made possible by donations from the community.”

Located in Toronto, Holland Bloorview is Canada's largest children's rehabilitation teaching hospital, fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. The hospital pioneers treatments, technologies, therapies and real-world programs that give children with disabilities the tools to participate fully in life.
