Delivering specialty care access through use of an innovative telehealth-home based intervention feeding program (telefeeding) to address food selectivity in Autism Spectrum Disorder


Summary

We are trying to determine if we can deliver a feeding intervention program using videoconferencing technology. We hope to learn if parent coaching around feeding strategies will lead to a change in difficult mealtime behaviours in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Participate in this study

“Is your child a picky eater? Consider participating in a research study to treat feeding challenges in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.”


Who can participate

We are looking for:

  • Children 2-5 years of age
  • Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Child eats greater than 5 foods

What's Involved

Your child will undergo a feeding assessment at the hospital. We will look at how, when and what your child eats. Then an intervention plan to address your child’s feeding challenges will be created.

  • You will be invited to participate in up to 12 feeding treatment session over a 12 week period.
  • Each session will last up to 1 hour.
  • Treatment will be delivered through videoconferencing from the hospital to your home at a time convenient to the family.
