Dianne W. Carmichael
Dianne Carmichael is Vice President, Capital Sports & Entertainment, an organization that oversees the Ottawa Senators NHL franchise.
Dianne brings over 25 years of senior executive, CEO and successful start-up experience across the healthcare, technology, financial services and consumer packaged goods sectors.
Dianne’s early career began at Proctor & Gamble, Gillette & Memorex Telex. She later built a Portfolio Management Co., selling it to a major financial institution and went on to create and build an $8B arm of a publicly traded pension, wealth and mutual fund management company as Chairman & CEO.
After her father lost his battle to cancer, Dianne left Bay Street to make a difference in the lives of those touched by serious illness. As President, she helped build and lead the Canadian arm of a second opinion, advocacy & health navigation company that now covers 40 million people worldwide, including six million Canadians.
She went on to become the Founder & President of UHN Solutions and most recently served as the Managing Director, Health Innovation & Ventures at MaRS, helping health start-ups develop for global impact.
In addition to Holland Bloorview, she sits on the Board of Patients Canada. She is also on the Advisory Boards of Canadian Association of People-Centred Health, York University Faculty of Health Dean’s Advisory, Closing the Gap and is Co-Chair of Operation Smile.
She sits on the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s Consumer ehealth Strategy steering committee. She is also the MedTech Industry Lead for the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI).
A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Dianne has received many awards including Top 20 Business Women in Canada, Top 100 Business Leaders in Canada, Canadian Women Transforming Healthcare and WXN 100 Most Powerful Women.
